About our Computer Lab

Our computer lab is available for Faculty and Staff to use for instructional purposes. We have a Smart Board, a traditional projector, a document projector, and 25 computers available for your needs. We also, typically, have a staff member on hand to offer instant IT support. Please see the following information for registering with our appointment system and reserving the computer lab for your use.

Our computer lab is available for reservations Monday-Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. If you would like to reserve the computer lab outside of our regular hours, please contact Martha Smith directly at Martha.Smith@utsa.edu.

Register with the System

  1. Navigate to utsa.mywconline.com.
  2. Click the link to 'Register for an account'.
  1. Fill in the required information designated by the * and click 'save'.
  2. You are now registered for the appointment system.
  3. Login with the information you provided in step #3 above.

Change the Default View

  1. As faculty, we think you will have a better experience navigating our reservation system if you change your default view from ‘Appointment Search’ view to the ‘Calendar Display’ view.
  2. To change the view to ‘Calendar Display’, look for the ‘Find an Appointment’ window on any of our schedules, scroll to the bottom of the box, and click the link labeled ‘update your system preferences.’
  1. This will open your ‘Update Your Profile and Communication Options’ window.
  2. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the window, locate the ‘System Preferences’ section.
  3. Toggle on the option: ‘Default to the schedule calendar view instead of the standard “appointment search” display.’
  4. Click the ‘Save Changes’ button.
  5. Your view should now default to the calendar view upon return visits to WCOnline.

Find the Lab Schedule

  1. By default, when you log into our system, you are taken to our Online Tutoring schedule.
  2. To find our Computer Lab schedule, click on the hamburger menu in the top left-hand side of the screen to open up the navigation menu. FTo locate our Computer Lab schedule, find the area in the navigation bar in the top left marked 'Schedules.'
  3. Click on the drop down box to the right of 'Schedules.'
  4. Find the schedule that begins with 'Computer Lab (JPL2.01.12C)' and select it.
  5. You should now be viewing our Computer Lab schedule.

Make a Reservation

  1. Sign in to utsa.mywconline.com.
  2. Select the 'Computer Lab (JPL 2.01.12C)' schedule (see previous section for walkthrough on how to 'Find the Lab Schedule').
  3. Navigate to the date you would like to reserve the Lab.
  4. Check for availability: any white boxes on the schedule indicate available, light blue boxes indicate someone else's reservation. Click on the white box under the time you wish to reserve.
  1. If the time you want to reserve is free, click in the white box to open the 'Create New Appointment' window.
  2. In the 'Create New Appointment' window, verify the date and start time are correct, then adjust the duration of the reservation. (If you are making back-to-back reservations you can make one single reservation to include the entire time you wish to reserve.)

Note: Due to the nature of our system, all reservations are rounded up to the nearest 30-minute interval, i.e. reserving the lab for a 50 minute class will require an hour long reservation.

  1. Fill out the required fields marked by the red *. For the 'Please describe your assignment' field, you can include any special requests or additional information for our Computer Administrator.
  2. Save your reservation by clicking the blue 'Create Appointment' button at the bottom of the window.
  1. Your appointment will now appear as an orange box on the calendar. You can also find all of your reservations by clicking the 'My Appointments' tab in the navigation bar.

Note: If the time you would like to reserve the lab starts or ends outside of our schedule's listed hours, please let Martha Smith know at martha.smith@utsa.edu to ensure we can accommodate you.

Find and Edit your Reservation

  1. If you need to return to your reservation to edit the details, first log back into our system at utsa.mywconline.com.
  2. Once you are logged in, you can find your current reservations by clicking the 'My Appointments' tab on the top left side of the navbar.
  3. On this page, you will find all of your current and upcoming reservations.
  1. Click on the reservation card you would like to edit and you will get the 'Existing Appointment' window for that reservation.
  2. At the very bottom of the window, there should be 4 buttons, click on the left-most blue 'Edit Appointment' button.

  1. A new 'Edit Existing Appointment' window will open and allow you to make basic changes to the details of your appointment. We recommend that if you need to change the date or time of your appointment that you cancel it and redo your reservation. (For a detailed walkthrough, please see the 'Cancel a Reservation' section of this guide.)
  2. Once you have made the necessary changes, confirm your changes by clicking the blue 'Save Changes' button at the bottom of the window.

Join the Waiting List

If the time you were hoping to reserve the lab is already taken, you can place your name on our waiting list to be notified of a cancellation.

  1. Navigate to the date you were hoping to reserve for your class.
  2. Click on the 'Waiting List' button to the right and underneath the row of reservation slots for the date and a new window will open.
  1. If you need the Lab at a specific time, adjust the start and end times under the 'Limit to a specific time range' field.
  2. Click the blue 'Join Waiting List' button.
  3. Whenever someone cancels a reservation during the day and time you have specified, you will receive an email notification of the cancellation. In the event there are multiple people waiting for the same time slot, it will be first-come, first-served.

Note: If you wish to add yourself to the waiting list for several different days, you will need to repeat the above steps for each day.

Cancel a Reservation

  1. Log into the appointment system at utsa.mywconline.com.
  2. Click on the 'My Appointments' tab in the navigation panel and select the appointment you wish to cancel.
  1. Scroll to the bottom of the 'Existing Appointment' window and click on the red 'Cancel Appointment' button.
  1. Confirm that you would like to cancel your appointment.
  2. Refresh your 'My Appointments' page and verify that the appointment has been removed.
  3. You may now close out of the WCOnline appointment system.
