Veteran and Military Affiliated Scholarships

We recognize the many sacrifices our veterans and military affiliated students have made on behalf of our country. UTSA is pleased to offer several scholarships for veterans and military affiliated students. These scholarships are for tuition, fees, living expenses or books during a semester at UTSA. Scholarships may be used in conjunction with federal or state funding or to help bridge the gap when funds are no longer available. Scholarships categories are listed below.

  • Indicate which category you are applying under (Veteran, Active Guard/Reserve, Military Affiliated, ROTC or Active Duty).

Scholarships

Veteran Scholarship

Must be a veteran of the United States Armed Services who has been honorably discharged, a currently enrolled student.

  • DD Form 214 and VA Certificate of Eligibility are required
  • Must achieve and maintain a cumulative UTSA GPA of a 2.50 or higher as undergraduate and achieve and maintain a cumulative UTSA GPA of 3.0 as a graduate student
  • Must be enrolled full-time in the semester(s) you receive the scholarship
  • Must have filled out a FASFA
  • Must be actively pursuing an undergraduate degree or pursuing graduate degree at UTSA
  • Must have completed at least one full semester at UTSA.

Active Guard/Reserve Scholarship

Must be a member of an Active Guard/Reserve component and be serving under honorable conditions and currently enrolled as a student.

  • Current Notice of Basic Eligibility (NOBE) from guard or reserve unit.
  • Must achieve and maintain a cumulative UTSA GPA of a 2.50 or higher as undergraduate and achieve and maintain a cumulative UTSA GPA of 3.0 as a graduate student
  • Must be enrolled full-time in the semester(s) you receive the scholarship
  • Must have filled out a FASFA
  • Must be actively pursuing an undergraduate degree or pursuing graduate degree at UTSA
  • Must have completed at least one full semester at UTSA.

Military Affiliated Scholarship

Must be a family member of a veteran of the United States Armed Services who has been honorably discharged.

  • DD Form 214, VA Certificate of Eligibility and government issued documents establishing relationship to service member are required
  • Must achieve and maintain a cumulative UTSA GPA of a 2.50 or higher as undergraduate and achieve and maintain a cumulative UTSA GPA of 3.0 as a graduate student
  • Must be enrolled full-time in the semester(s) you receive the scholarship
  • Must have filled out a FASFA
  • Must be actively pursuing an undergraduate degree or pursuing graduate degree at UTSA
  • Must have completed at least one full semester at UTSA.

ROTC Scholarship

Must be registered with either the UTSA Army or Air Force ROTC program as a full time program participant.

  • Proof of signed program contract must be verified
  • Must achieve and maintain a cumulative UTSA GPA of a 2.50 or higher as undergraduate and achieve and maintain a cumulative UTSA GPA of 3.0 as a graduate student
  • Must be enrolled full-time in the semester(s) you receive the scholarship
  • Must have filled out a FASFA
  • Must be actively pursuing an undergraduate degree or pursuing graduate degree at UTSA
  • Must have completed at least one full semester at UTSA.

Active Duty Scholarship

Must be a currently serving active duty member of the Armed Forces during the semester of scholarship award. Must present current active duty ID card.

  • Current active duty ID card must be verified
  • Must achieve and maintain a cumulative UTSA GPA of a 2.50 or higher as undergraduate and achieve and maintain a cumulative UTSA GPA of 3.0 as a graduate student
  • Must be enrolled full-time in the semester(s) you receive the scholarship
  • Must have filled out a FASFA
  • Must be actively pursuing an undergraduate degree or pursuing graduate degree at UTSA
  • Must have completed at least one full semester at UTSA.
