    Peace Roundabout and Campus Oval

UTSA will begin a project in March 2012 that will create a safe and easy-to-navigate traffic roundabout, convenient transportation drop offs for VIA buses and UTSA shuttles, and an open green area that will serve as a social space for gathering and recreation. The green space, which has not yet been named, is tentatively called the “campus oval”.

We know the big question...How will this affect me?

Read the UTSAToday article announcing the project

    If you currently have:

    • "R" permit: Spaces are available in nearby lots or you may upgrade to a Tobin Ave Garage permit. See Map
    • "MC" motorcycle permit: Additional spaces will be allocated between the North Paseo Building and the Tobin Ave Garage. See Map
    • Disabled placard and UTSA Permit: Spaces are available between the North Paseo Building and Tobin Ave Garage, or Brackenridge Lot 1 in front of the Convocation Center with limited cart service to the MS building.

    When will construction start?

The Peace Lot (lot 3) will be closed permanently on March 10, 2012. There will be no access to Bauerle Road lot 2 from Loop 1604. You will need to use East Campus Drive or enter from South Campus on Bauerle Road.

How will I get onto campus during the Roundabout construction?

From Mar 10 - Mid August, the Peace Blvd entrance to campus will be closed. Patrons and visitors will need to enter from Brenan at 1604. Map

    Will Student Parking be affected?

No, this project only affects staff parking and students will not lose any parking spaces.

When will the traffic roundabout and oval be open for use?

The roundabout should be available for use August 2012.

How will I get to the new Bauerle Road Garage when it opens in August 2012?

You will be able to use the roundabout, exit onto Bauerle Road and enter from either end of the garage.
