Where we conduct empirical research and on Latino health and well-being
The Latino Health Research Initiative (LHRI) brings together a dedicated group of researchers to develop grant proposals and conduct theory-driven research on pressing Latino health issues. This is a broad-based initiative addressing cultural customs and practices along with personality and physiological (genetic) factors. This work develops and improves information that health policy is based on. In addition to its highly regarded funded research endeavors, the LHRI provides a venue for debate and innovative thinking, by nurturing collaboration, by building capacity for non-partisan, authentic, clear-headed investigations, and by increasing public awareness of circumstances that affect Latino health research and  policy.
