The Graduate School discontinues office hours at Downtown Campus during summer

(May 11, 2016) -- The Graduate School will discontinue holding regular Tuesday and Wednesday office hours at the Downtown Campus for the summer. The Graduate School will, however, hold appointments at the Downtown Campus for Thesis and Dissertations on three dates this summer.

Spring 2016 Downtown Campus Spirit Award Winner: Gilbert Perez

UTSA ACE Scholar Program provides financial, academic support to help local high schoolers transition to college

(Feb. 29, 2016) -- Tucked inside the Tomas Rivera Center for Student Success (TRC) office on the second floor of the Durango Building, the Access College and Excel (ACE) Scholar Program has been steadily working behind the scenes to help incoming freshmen from high schools surrounding the downtown area transition successfully to college.

Three members of Downtown Campus community win top honors from state higher education association

(Feb. 29, 2016) -- Three members of the UTSA Downtown Campus community were honored recently by the Texas Association of Chicanos in Higher Education (TACHE) for their contributions to the field. Maricela Oliva, Belinda Saldana Harmon and Vanessa Sansone were publicly recognized at the 41st annual TACHE conference held Feb. 17-20, 2016 at El Tropicano Hotel in downtown San Antonio.

Harmon selected as President-Elect for Texas Association of Chicanos in Higher Education (TACHE)

(Feb. 1, 2016) -- In recognition of academic distinction, leadership and professional service, Rogelio Sáenz has been appointed as the inaugural holder of the Mark G. Yudof College of Public Policy Dean’s Endowed Professorship. The appointment was effective Jan. 1.

Downtown Library debuts additional computers and on-site technical support

(Jan. 26, 2016) -- The Downtown Library, in collaboration with the Office of Information Technology's Student Computing Services, kicked off the spring semester by adding more than 70 computer workstations and a new desk for on-site technical support.

UTSA Sarabia Family Counseling Center provides top quality counseling services to San Antonio community

(Jan. 20, 2016) -- Every day, the UTSA Sarabia Family Counseling Center provides top-tier mental health and counseling services to the San Antonio community -- free-of-charge. The center is a working clinic and on-campus training facility located on the third floor of the Durango Building (DB 3.304) on the UTSA Downtown Campus.

Renowned American playwright and film director Luis Valdez visits UTSA

(July 13, 2015) -- From July 13-18, UTSA will host the National Association of Latino Arts and Cultures (NALAC) for its 15th Leadership Institute, a highly competitive program that convenes Latino arts leaders from across the nation for an intensive training in nonprofit arts management and leadership development. To commemorate the institute’s 15th anniversary, NALAC has invited renowned American playwright, actor, writer and film director Luis Valdez to deliver a keynote speech at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 18 in the Buena Vista Building’s Aula Canaria Auditorium (BVB 1.328) at the UTSA Downtown Campus. The event is free and open to the public.
