UTSA's International Education Week

Join the UTSA community as we celebrate and promote international education and cross-cultural exchanges!

International Education Week (IEW) is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. This joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education is part of their efforts to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment attracting future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences in the United States. The U.S. Departments of State and Education encourage the participation of all individuals and institutions interested in international education, internships and exchange activities, including schools, colleges and universities, embassies, international organizations, businesses, associations, and community organizations.

Vision: Our vision with UTSA's IEW celebrations is to bring together all communities on campus and promote the sharing of our rich diversity as a campus and members of a global community. IEW also supports UTSA’s Tier One Vision relating to International Reach.

Mission: Enhance the educational experience at UTSA through an innovative program that sequentially infuses the three themes that underpin student success: building programs that meet the needs of a global society, promoting diversity, and fostering transformative leadership.

Purpose: The establishment of IEW will allow the UTSA to join more than 100 countries around the globe to celebrate international education with students, faculty and the San Antonio community. IEW is designed to showcase the significant contribution that international education makes in preparing the U.S for the global world and supports UTSA's efforts to engage effectively on the international stage. IEW will symbolize the strategic initiatives detailed in the College of Business and the UTSA's 2016 Strategic Plan.

International Education Week Goal: The celebration aims to promote international understanding and build support for international educational exchange by encouraging the development of programs that prepare students to live and work in a global environment. Exchanges are critical to developing mutual understanding and respect, building leadership abroad, fostering an appreciation for the United States and our global partners and investing in the future relationship between Americans and people around the world.
