Research Interests

Our research Group is involved in the synthesis, characterization and application of nanostructures of metals and oxides using chemical and physical techniques. We use aberration corrected scanning transmission microscopy, electron diffraction, raman microscopy, atomic force, transmission and environmental scanning transmission microscopy. We have been long interested in nanoparticles of noble metals. We also have a very extensive program in bimetallic nanoparticles sponsored by NSF. We are studying the following systems:
 • Au/Ag  • Au/Co  • Au/Pd  • Au/Ptv  • Pd/Ir  • Pd/Mo  • Pt/Pd  • Pt/Pd/Ag
