2014 promises to be a particularly exciting year for The University of Texas at San Antonio as we mark our 45th anniversary and celebrate the graduation of our 100,000th student. What amazing milestones for our university and for San Antonio!
Since its establishment in 1969, UTSA has been transforming San Antonio, raising the level of education and producing the graduates who are shaping the future of our city. Today, nearly 70 percent of UTSA graduates stay in San Antonio, becoming business leaders, scientists, teachers and artists, and community leaders.
We recognize the critical role UTSA plays in helping San Antonio achieve its full potential. That is why we are creating unparalleled opportunities for our students to study side-by-side with top-tier scholars and researchers. Together, they are making new discoveries, creating new businesses, and advancing San Antonio's global standing. It is also why UTSA has been designated as one of the state's emerging research institutions and is well on its way to recognition as a Tier One University.
UTSA is San Antonio's university and, just as we are committed to our community, it is your continued support that has allowed UTSA to do so much for our nearly 100,000 graduates. Thank you for all you do for UTSA.
Best wishes for a Happy New Year.
President, The University of Texas at San Antonio
