Weightroom Orientation
This walk up no appointment needed educational session will cover equipment description and location in the facility. Participants will also be instructed on proper seat placement and machine set-up. Fitness staff will also make minor recommendations on body alignment and form. (This is not a personal training session.) Participants will merely be better acquainted with conditioning equipment. Please check the web for available times. Don't forget to sign up for a fitness assessment when you're done! Email fitness for more information.

Weight/Cardio Room Etiquette
  • Wear proper athletic shoes and clothing.
  • Carry a workout towel and wipe off equipment when you are finished.
  • Make sure drinking bottles have closeable lids.
  • Discard gum in wastebasket.
  • Ask for assistance from the staff if you do not know how to use equipment.
  • Work out at your own fitness level.
  • Ask if you may "work in," and always let others work in with you, when doing multiple sets.
  • Please refrain from sitting on equipment or to socialize between sets.
  • Avoid banging your weights or dropping your dumbbells.
  • Do not remove weights, benches or equipment from their proper place.
  • Collars on weight bars are mandatory at all times.
  • Always use a spotter when attempting to lift maximum weight, when using free weights.
  • Be patient when waiting on equipment and be efficient when using equipment while others are waiting for you.
  • Re-rack weights and return all other accessories to their proper locations.
  • Always return equipment, mats, ball, pads etc to their proper locations.
  • Always wipe down equipment after use.
