Who We Are
Be A Responsible Roadrunner is a student organization supported by the Office of Student Activities. The organization is made up of student leaders dedicated to purposeful, diverse and educational programming. (read more)
We support the rights of all students to make their own choices regarding behaviors that affect their health and encourage student to educate themselves about those issues. Be A Responsible Roadrunner encourages all students to consider a wide range of healthier behaviors that reduce or eliminate the risk of negative outcomes.
A sample of programs and activities Be A Responsible Roadrunner creatively develops are:
- Thirsty Thursdays
- Rowdy Wing Fling (in collaboration with various UTSA departments)
- Alcohol Awareness Week Activities
- Mocktails at Roadrunners Late Night events
- Campus Crawl (in partnership with UTSA Housing and Campus Living Villages)
- Safe Spring Break Week Activities
- Party on the Paseo (in collaboration with various UTSA departments)
Some of the other activities you will find associated with Be A Responsible Roadrunner are:
- Educational workshops and campus-wide awareness events on various risk education topics
- Campus-wide awareness programs co-sponsored with other organizations and departments
- Group Retreats and Conferences that increase awareness and knowledge alcohol and other drug issues among the college population
- Training in conflict management, programming, intervention skills and group development
How You Can Participate
There are several ways you can participate in Be A Responsible Roadrunner. It's as easy as attending the events we host, coming to our educational meetings, volunteering at an event, or applying to be a member of the organization. (read more)
To receive information about upcoming events, email us and you will be added to our e-news. To apply for membership, please print the application and submit to the Office of Student Activities (UC 1.210 or DB 1.302) when it is completed.
Through active participation in Be A Responsible Roadrunner, you will have the opportunity to:
- Gain leadership experience
- Discover truths about alcohol and drug use among college students
- Have fun with peers by planning and implementing activities
- Learn State Laws and UTSA Student Code of Conduct and how it affects you as a student
- Make a difference
- Experience community and UTSA spirit
