Barry S. McKinney, M.S
Director of Student Activities
Barry holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio.
He has a master’s degree in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University in College
Station. He is currently a doctoral candidate at Texas A&M University-Kingsville in Educational
Leadership.
He has experience working with his International Fraternity as an Educational
Leadership Consultant and Headquarters Staff. He has worked in the following areas of Student
Affairs: Residence Life, Multicultural Programming, Student Organizations, Greek Life, Student
Government, Leadership Development, Campus Activities Board, Orientation, and Judicial Affairs.
He has experience at several universities including Virginia Tech and Texas A&M.
Barry and his
wife, Jan, recently had a baby boy. Barry enjoys going to the movies, watching 24 and American
Idol, and all things related to Popular Culture.

Misty R. Kelley
Assistant Director of Student Activities for Student Organizations
Misty holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics and Finance from Washburn University and
Master of Science in College Student Personnel from Kansas State University. She began her employment at UTSA in May of 1999.
Her job responsibilties are to advise the Student Organization Council, oversee the 180 student organizations, and oversee the
Student Organization Complex.

Michelle Montanio
Assistant Director of Student Activities Downtown
Michelle holds a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from UTSA. After graduating in 1988, she became a caseworker
for Child Protective Services for four years. She began her employment at UTSA in 1993 as the first Program
Coordinator for Volunteer Services and advisor to VOICES. In 1999, she became the first Assistant Director of
Student Activities at the Downtown Campus and continues in this role with the same love and passion as
the day she started. She has experience working with volunteer and not-for-profit organizations,
student organizations, student government, campus activities board, leadership development, and multicultural
programming. She is a certified facilitator for True Colors Personality Assessment, Stop the Hate and the
UTSA Allies Program.

Kelsey Bratcher
Assistant Director of Student Activities for Risk Education, Alcohol and Drug Programs
Kelsey holds both a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mass Communications/Broadcasting and a Master of Arts Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (Speech Communications, Education Administration, Mass Communications and Management) from West Texas A&M University in Canyon, Texas.
Kelsey began working at UTSA in June 2007 as the first Assistant Director for Risk Education, Alcohol and Drug Programs in Student Activities. She enjoys educating students about the responsible choices they can make through Alcohol Awareness Week and Safe Spring Break event programming, classroom programs, and other special events. She also advises the student group Be A Responsible Roadrunner (BARR) and serves as the BACCHUS Network Texas State Coordinator.
With over 10 years of experience in Student Affairs, she has been involved with Peer Education, Alcohol and Drug Programming, Greek Life, Student Organizations, University Event Planning, Diversity Programming, Leadership Development, Student Activities Council, Orientation, Convocation, University Readership Programs, Supplemental Instruction and University Center Management. Kelsey has worked for Girl Scouts – Five Star Council, taught Business and Professional Speaking Amarillo College, and was the Assistant Director of the Jack B. Kelley Student Center at WTAMU.

Charlin Jones, M.A
Program Coordinator for Honors Alliance
Charlin Jones received her bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from UTSA in 2002 and her master's degree in
Adult and Higher Education Administration from UTSA in 2007. Charlin was an active student leader at UTSA as an
undergraduate through her involvement in Campus Activities Board, Student Alumni Association, Student Government Association,
and Kappa Delta Chi Sorority, Inc. She has a passion for working with students and student organizations.
Charlin is the Program Coordinator for Honors Alliance. Her primary responsibilities are coordinating the implementation
of the Honor Code at UTSA and serving as the primary advisor for the Honors Alliance. She began working at UTSA as a
student worker in 1999 and became a full-time employee in 2002. She has been the Program Coordinator since 2005.

Kristal Statler
Program Advisor for Greek Life
Kristal holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from St. Mary's University and
Masters Degree in Counseling and College Student Affairs from Texas State University.
She began employment at UTSA in January of 2005. Her job responsibilities are to advise the Interfraternity,
Panhellenic and Multicultural Greek Councils. She also oversees all the fraternities and sororities on campus,
the Greek Honor Societies and the Greek Week.

Chris Hargraves
Student Program Advisor
Chris holds a Bachelors of Arts from Wichita State University and Masters of Education from University of Arkansas.
He began employment at UTSA in July of 2006. His job responsibilities to be an advisor to the Campus Activities Board.

Keith A. Pilger
Coordinator of Student Activities Downtown
Keith holds a Bachelor of Science in Recreation and Parks Administration from Western Illinois University, and
Master of Higher Education Administration from Bradley University. He began employment at UTSA in November of 2004.
His job responsibilities are to manage the Student Activities Center and is responsible for scheduling, planning,
and promoting Student Activities at the Downtown Campus.

Carol J. Lee
Administrative Assistant
Carol graduated high school, attended the Southwest Business & Technical Careers School, and received a Master's
Certificate of Completion in Biblical Counseling from the Master's International School of Divinity. C.J. is currently
pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Biblical Counseling. She has been an Administrative Assistant for The University of
Texas at San Antonio over eighteen years and enjoys working with students. Whenever an opportunity is presented, she
takes time to encourage them in their studies as well as in their personal struggles. My primary duties include, but
are not limited to: receptionist at the downtown campus, reserving rooms for student organization events, assisting
student organizations with postings, policies & procedures, supervising work studies, selling software, etc. I enjoy my
position and will continue to serve UTSA and its students to the best of my ability

Lyndsey Battles
Administrative Associate I
Lyndsey Battles will receive her bachelor's degree in accounting from UTSA in December of 2007.
Lyndsey is an active student at UTSA with her involvement in various honor societies and the Honors Alliance.
She has six years of office setting, work experience and enjoys working with other students. She began working at
UTSA in late 2005. Her primary responsibilities are purchasing, contracts, and assisting the office with general tasks.
Lyndsey also assists with the front desk.
