Better World Books

About Better World Books
Every semester, on campuses across the country, thousands upon thousands of good books are thrown in dumpsters. Even more books sit in closets and boxes, collecting dust for years. Now, with your help, these forgotten, wasted books can become the dream for a better world. Better World Books has formed partnerships with service clubs and highly motivated students at over 500 colleges and universities. Together, we collect "no-value" books, which would otherwise be thrown away or destroyed, for the benefit of our non-profit literacy partners worldwide. Not only has Better World Books saved over two and a half million pounds of books from landfills, we have funded the shipment of over 500,000 books to Africa, raised enough money to build seven schools in Southeast Asia, and donated approximately $750,000 to our non-profit literacy partners to date. With your help, we can do so much more.

At the end of every semester, Volunteer Services collects unwanted textbooks and gives them to one of the three major literacy partners of Better World Books. The partners are:
