A Brief Description of Volunteer Opportunities and Upcoming Events

September 11: Volunteer Opportunities Fair
This event will take place at the UTSA DT Campus in the Frio Street Commons from 10:30am to 1:30pm.

September 17: Volunteer Opportunities Fair
This event will take place at the UTSA 1604 Campus in the University Center 1st Floor from 10:00am to 2:00pm.

September 26: 15th Annual Babcock Rd. Clean-up
COme be a part of the tradition! Vans will transport student volunteers from the Convo Center to sites along Babcock Rd. and UTSA Blvd from 10:00am - 3:00pm. Stay at least 1 hour and recieve a t-shirt (while supplies last!). Visit UC 1.216 or call (210) 458-4770 for more information.

September 27: Action Generation Service Summit
A part of the National Initiative, the Sna Antoniocommunity is invited to participate in this exciting day that includes a service project, service fair, free lunch, and a concert at the UTSA Downtown campus! Adelante Leadership Institute - September 18-19
The institute focused on helping Hispanic College students graduate and lead, will bring over 150 college students to San Antonio and volunteers are needed for a variety of programs. Contact Adria Macias-Castillo for more information!

White Cane Day - October 11 - Sign up by 9/15
Volunteers needed for this fun-run and walk with the low vision center. Contact Elia Pardo at (210) 287-0341.

Boystown - Tree Trimming Needed
Boystown is in need of assistance with tree trimming. If you have trimming tools and a desirte to help, please contact Janet Pedrotti at (210) 271-1010.

Family Service Association - Ceiling Repair Needed
A group of 25-30 is needed to help repair the ceiling tiles at their Westside Office by the end of September. Please call Kristi Walston at (210) 299-3473 to donate your time.

City of San Antonio - Graffiti Volunteer Program
Volunteers will be given kits and assigned areas for wiping out graffiti! After 10 hours you recieve a t-shirt and are eligible for other incentives. To wipe out graffiti contact Liza Mcken zie at (210) 394-3473 or visit San Antonio Graffiti Volunteer Program

Camps CAMP! Recreation for young people
Volunteers are needed to work with special needs children 1:1 during recreational and educational events each month. To give your time to these children e-mail Michelle Elble.

Any Baby Can!
Volunteers are needed in the evenings to help with Sibling Support Groups and other events throughout the month of September. This is a great opportunity to help families with special needs children. For more informastion, contact Sandy Redmond or call (210) 227-0170.

Connections Individual & Family Services - general Volunteers needed
This agency is in need of volunteers to help with small projects around the office andd yard. They are located in New Braunfels. For more information, email Susan Delano or call (830) 629-6571.

Knights of the Guild - Painting Project!
