Southwestern Black Student Leadership Conference
Application no longer available for 2013.
In 1989, innovative collegians at Texas A&M University produced a forum by which African American students in the southwest could assemble to address the problems and concerns that affected the Black community.
The Southwestern Black Student Leadership Conference is held each January, uniting hundreds of students and advisors, nationally renowned speakers and a variety of corporations from throughout the entire country. SBSLC is dedicated to addressing and developing solutions to major issues as well as bringing a spirit of unity among students and leaders of all levels.
SBSLC is a four day conference held at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. Students selected to attend would travel to and from the conference on a chartered bus. Included in the conference are transportation, registration, hotel, and meals at the conference site. The student is expected to stay for the entire conference.
