From its founding, The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) has
been charged by the state legislature with to be “a university of the
first class." As such, the University has high standards of behavior
befitting an academic institution committed to both access and
excellence. Consistent with its core values, UTSA encourages an
environment of dialogue and discovery where integrity, excellence,
inclusiveness, respect, collaboration, and innovation are fostered.
Students at the University neither lose their rights nor escape the
responsibilities of citizenship. They are expected to obey and conduct
themselves in accordance with the penal and civil statutes of the local,
state, and federal governments Rules and Regulations of the Board of
Regents, and the University's regulations and administrative rules.
