The Student Life Initiatives Office coordinates projects and activities that further the Student Life mission at UTSA. We provide workshops like the newly created Marketable Leadership Skills series and support other departmental efforts that enrich and prepare UTSA students for life after college.

Employers have identified key skills and traits they seek when hiring a recent college graduate.
These include:

  • Working Effectively in a Team
  • Interpersonal Communication
  • Problem Solving
  • Decision Making
  • The Ability to Plan, Organize and Prioritize

These skills also lay the foundation for effective leadership which is necessary to advance in most fields. To help UTSA students prepare for the challenges they will face both during their college years and beyond, Student Life is offering training in marketable leadership skills. This training is organized in three levels allowing you to advance as far as you choose to go. Action steps are also included within each level.

Your successful completion of this training will be certified by the University on your Co-curricular transcript in RowdyLink, giving you documentation to provide to prospective employers. The training you receive will also prepare you be able to articulate the skills you have gained in the interview process.
