Terry Scholars: 2009-2010

Kileigh Agnello
Having completed a successful academic career at Canyon High School in New Braunfels, Kileigh Agnello is determined to continue her success at UTSA. Her drive and determination to succeed were evident in her work as a member of the National Honor Society and as an officer for the Canyon FFA Chapter. Kileigh has participated in numerous community service projects, including volunteering in the Child Life Department at University Hospital. These activities have prepared her for a career in the medical field. Her goals are to graduate with a B.S. in nursing and to become an AirLife Nurse.


Cathryn Boethel
Cathryn Boethel graduated from Columbia High School in West Columbia, Texas as the highest ranking student in her class. She was involved in a variety of school activities, including the National Honor Society, Jazz Band, Symphonic Band, Marching Band, UIL Academic Team, Spanish Club, FCCLA, Choir, shot and discus, and PALS. Cathryn received honors from ATSSB for All-Region Band, ALL-Area Band, and All-State band for four years. She earned dual college credits at Brazosport College and was recognized by Brazosport College as one of the Outstanding 20 students for 2009. Outside of school, Cathryn participated in the Brazosport Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, and Community Band. She was selected as a featured performer in the Klassical Kids competition and was a member of the Houston Youth Symphony and Phi Theta Kappa. She received the President's Award through Hugh O'Brien Youth Leadership for exceeding 100 volunteer hours in a year. Cathryn's other passion is plants, and she maintains a large greenhouse at home. She has worked at the Enchanted Forest Nursery and has been involved with the Amaryllis Society in Houston. Cathryn plans to major in music.


Rebecca Bugyi
Rebecca Bugyi graduated from Alief Taylor High School in Houston, Texas. She was extremely active in school sports, playing volleyball for four years, playing softball and swimming for three years, and running track for one year. She lettered in softball in her junior year. She was also involved in a summer league swim team for two years. As Vice President of the National Honor Society, Rebecca helped organize and host school festivals and student blood drives. She is a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church, where she participates in youth activities. She has also been a Girl Scout for more than ten years and earned her Gold Award in 2007. Rebecca is entering UTSA as an undeclared major but soon hopes to find her path in life.


Tyler Martini
Tyler Martini attended Comfort High School where he graduated in the top of his class. He was involved in many extracurricular activities including National Honor Society; Jazz, Marching, and Concert Band; Debate Team; One Act Play; Student Council and UIL Academics. Tyler has also been a Boy Scout for eight years earning the highest rank of Eagle Scout in 2008. Through his high school career he has been very active in the community, accumulating over 200 volunteer service hours. He is a proud member of his church where he volunteered as a core leader for the middle school EDGE program and participated in a mission trip to New Orleans where he helped rebuild after Hurricane Katrina. Tyler is currently pursuing a degree in Biology at UTSA and plans to gain acceptance into the Dual Degree/Early Acceptance Program for dental school. He then plans to continue his education in order to reach his ultimate career goal as an Orthodontist.


Stephanie Marie Rodriguez
Stephanie Marie Rodriguez will be a biology major at UTSA. She recently graduated third in her class from A.C. Jones High School in Beeville, TX. In high school, she actively participated in Key Club, National Honor Society, soccer, and the Mighty Trojan Band Colorguard. She was also a PALS member throughout her junior and senior years. Outside of the classroom she attended Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, and volunteered as an assistant catechist for both the Sunday school and the Catholic summer school programs. Stephanie also held an after school job as a student aide for the Barnhart sponsored "Kinder to College" program at the local kindergarten. After completing her first four years at UTSA, Stephanie hopes to attend medical school and pursue a career as a pediatrician.


Kassie Stewart
Kassie Stewart graduated from Gregory-Portland High School in Portland, Texas, where she was an active member of the National Honor Society and competed in Business Professionals of America. She was also a member of the school's varsity track team for four years. Outside of school, she was active in her community as a member of Girl Scouts for over 10 years. Kassie is majoring in Management with a concentration in International Business.
