UTSA community invited to MLK Jr. march
(Jan. 13, 2004)--UTSA faculty, staff and students are invited to participate in the Martin Luther King Jr. March at 10 a.m., Monday, Jan. 19. The theme of the march is "A Day On, Not A Day Off."
The march, which draws 30,000 people and is the largest in the nation, begins at Martin Luther King Jr. Park, 3503 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, which is 6 blocks east of I-10/Highway 90.

The march proceeds west along Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, then north on New Braunfels Avenue to the termination point at Martin Luther King Jr. Plaza (Houston Street and New Braunfels Avenue).
Members of the UTSA community will congregate at the tennis courts at 9:30
a.m. at Martin Luther King Jr. Park. Marchers can also join in along the route.

Shuttle transportation to the park will be available at 9 a.m. from the St. Philip's College parking lot facing Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Shuttle service will be available back to St. Philip's.
The march is co-sponsored by the UTSA American Studies program and the Office of Student Affairs.
