UTSA Alumni Association elects board of directors

(Sept. 8, 2006)--The UTSA Alumni Association recently elected five officers and seven new members, and returned nine members to its 21-member board of directors.
The board members for the 2006-07 fiscal year are: president, Rick Keeler ('81), Rehler Vaughn & Koone Inc.; vice president, Yvonne Fernandez ('85), Security Service Federal Credit Union; treasurer, Tracy D. Jackson ('93), Valero Energy Corp.; member-at-large, Dinah Covert ('95), Accreditation & Licensing Consultants; member-at-large and Syd Muenster ('00), AT&T, retired.

New to the board this year are: Elva Adams ('95), Wells Fargo Bank; Donald P. Barnes ('87), Continental Automotive Systems; Patty Escobedo ('85, '93), Francis R. Scobee Junior High School; Susan Filyk ('95), Frost Bank; and Cathy Starnes ('92), Southwest Business Corporation.
Returning board members are: Walter Ague ('90), Hemisphere Institute for Public Service; W. Elisa Chan ('93), Unintech Consulting Engineers Inc.; Loretta Clarke ('87 '90), educational consultant; Renee Crittenden-Garcia ('96), Crittenden Communications, LLC; Rob Killen ('97), Kaufman & Associates Inc.; Michael Kwiatkowski ('78), Shell Oil Company, Houston; Debbie Prost ('79), Prost Marketing Inc.; Wayne Terry ('85), HEB; and Danny Zimmermann ('01), Cleary Zimmermann Engineers. Appointed to fill a vacancy is Lisette Murray ('89), HelmsBriscoe. The immediate past president who will serve the association during the year is Linda Montgomery ('87), JLM Marketing Inc.
The UTSA Alumni Association serves the needs of 64,000 alumni all over the world and support the goals of UTSA. The association has raised more than $500,000 for student scholarships and continues to provide support for alumni activities, primarily through its annual Rising Star Gala and Diploma Dash.
