Registered in Bexar County? Early-vote at UTSA

By Tim Brownlee
Assistant Director of Public Affairs

(April 16, 2008)--If you are a voter registered in Bexar County, you can early-vote at UTSA. Early voting for the Joint General and Special Elections will be April 28-May 6 in the Main Building ground floor lobby on the 1604 Campus.

On May 10, Bexar County residents will have the opportunity to decide if Bexar County's short-term car rental and hotel occupancy taxes, also known as the "visitor tax," should be extended to fund up to $415 million in community projects. It is important to note that even though there are four propositions, only the two taxes would be extended.

If approved, the projects included in the four propositions will be funded by the visitor tax to improve 13 miles of the San Antonio River, create tournament-quality youth sports facilities including some to be located at UTSA, improve Bexar County-owned community arenas and rodeo grounds, and enhance performing and cultural arts facilities.
