The event will feature a women's chorus giving tribute to the pioneers of gospel music, along with the melodic voices of the Texas State University Gospel Choir -- GEA, The Anointed Vessels of Praise and Perfect Praise of Houston.
V.I.P. was founded in 2006 with the goals of inspiring the UTSA community through gospel music and fostering a spiritual link between UTSA and the community. In the two years since its founding, the choir has performed at UTSA, throughout San Antonio and across Texas.
V.I.P. began with just over 20 voices and a two-piece band. Today, the student group is one of the largest organizations at UTSA with more than 70 members and a five-piece band representing an array of religious denominations, ethnicitities and genders. With such a diverse group of student voices, the choir can present a broad range of song selections from contemporary Christian, Christian rock, gospel rap and gospel music.
