UTSA United to Serve volunteer day is April 4

(March 26, 2009)--The fifth annual UTSA United to Serve day is April 4. Students, staff, faculty, alumni and friends are invited to participate in 14 projects in the San Antonio area. United to Serve is a UT System initiative with service events each year at several system campuses.

>> Participants can sign up as individuals or in groups at the UTSA Volunteer Services Web site.

Projects include painting at Boys Town, sorting donations at the Food Bank, landscape work for Communities in Schools, among many others. If you are interested in bringing children, check the minimum age requirement when signing up. Various shifts are available throughout the day.

Volunteers receive a t-shirt while supplies last and will be invited to celebrate community service at Volunteer Appreciation Day events April 21.
