Veterans Day ceremony will be Nov. 11 at Sombrilla Plaza

(Nov. 9, 2009)--UTSA's Army ROTC and Air Force ROTC will host a Veterans Day ceremony at 10:45 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 11 at Sombrilla Plaza on the Main Campus. The ceremony is to honor veterans who gave of themselves to protect our nation and freedom. The event is free and open to the public.

A joint UTSA color guard will march from the Multidisciplinary Studies building to the flagpole at Sombrilla Plaza between the John Peace Library Building and the Arts Building. The national anthem will be played, followed by brief remarks about the meaning and significance of the event.

At 11 a.m., a memorial wreath will be laid at the flagpole. The ceremony will end with the playing of the traditional memorial service bugle call, Taps.
