UTSA CAR hosts “Archaeology Mini Spring Break Camp” March 9-11
(Feb. 13, 2015)-The UTSA Center for Archaeological Research will host a “Archaeology Mini Spring Break Camp” for kids age 9-13 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on March 9-11 at the UTSA Main Campus.
The camp will teach children how to use archaeological tools and methods through a variety of indoor and outdoor activities. Campers will explore various cultures and learn about Native Americans, Mayan civilization, skeletal analysis and experimental archaeology.
Scheduled activities include mock excavations, studies on ancient technologies, hands-on activities and games, crafts and archaeological lab tours.
The camp is $150 and cost will cover supplies, snacks and a t-shirt.
