UTSA releases spring semester census report
(March 2, 2016) – The UTSA Office of Institutional Research has released its preliminary 20th day census report for the spring 2016 semester. This semester, more students are enrolled in the College of Liberal and Fine Arts (COLFA) than any other UTSA College.
Nearly 5,400 students are enrolled in COLFA, representing 20 percent of UTSA’s current student population. The second largest college this semester, the UTSA College of Business, enrolled 5,038 or 19 percent of UTSA students.
As one of the largest and most academically diverse colleges, COLFA and its 11 departments contribute to the top-tier education of virtually every student through its core curriculum, which has earned the university an “A” rating in the American Council of Trustees and Alumni’s “What Will They Learn?” report for four consecutive years.
The college produces top-tier research and creative work in the arts, humanities and social sciences. COLFA is a major provider of arts and humanities in South Texas; each year, it hosts more than 100 events, concerts, lectures and exhibitions for the public and generates an audience of more than 70,000 guests annually.
The spring census also showed that 53 percent of the university’s undergraduate student body identifies as Hispanic.
