TxDOT close two major intersections off UTSA Blvd.
(October 28, 2016) -- The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will close the Bauerle and Valero Way intersections of UTSA Blvd. near the UTSA Main Campus beginning at 9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28 for scheduled maintenance and construction.
The Valero Way intersection will re-open by 5 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 31, while the Bauerle intersection will be reopened no later than Wednesday, Nov. 2. When Bauerle reopens, there will temporarily be no dedicated eastbound left turn into Bauerle Rd. or a westbound left turn into Sienna Way Rd. These intersections will be reopened before Thanksgiving.
TxDOT will also split UTSA Blvd. traffic beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28 for scheduled construction efforts. Drivers are asked to be aware of and plan ahead for this development.
Westbound traffic will be switched to the new pavement sometime Friday night. Over the weekend, eastbound traffic on UTSA Blvd. will be directed to new pavement and routine maintenance will be completed.
Off-duty police officers will assist with traffic control until the traffic switch.
