Walmart Grant Supports UTSA Police Department’s National Night Out
The UTSA Police Department (UTSAPD) received a generous boost to its community outreach efforts last week thanks to a grant from Walmart. Chief Stephanie Schoenborn and members of UTSAPD were honored to accept the contribution, which will directly support this year’s National Night Out event, scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2025.
“We sincerely appreciate Walmart’s continued partnership and commitment to public safety,” said Chief Schoenborn. “Their support not only helps bring this event to life but also reinforces the importance of working together to create a stronger, more connected community.”
National Night Out is a nationwide initiative that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. At UTSA, the event is a chance for the community to engage with officers in a fun, welcoming environment while learning more about public safety and available resources.
With Walmart’s support, the department will be able to offer a family-friendly event filled with educational materials, meaningful activities and opportunities to connect with law enforcement in positive and constructive ways.
