University Peer Mentorship (UPM)

University Peer Mentorship (UPM) is a 0-credit-hour course, designed to support new Roadrunners during their first year at UTSA. In UPM, first-year students connect with a peer mentor, complete online asynchronous modules and meet three times with their mentor throughout the semester. During these meetings, peer mentors will guide students through topics that are crucial to being successful academically and socially at UTSA. Students will have the opportunity to meet other UPM students in their section at events and programming and learn more about the resources available on campus. All material is provided on Canvas. The course includes eight modules that open every two weeks throughout the semester and remain open once completed. The modules contain short lessons, activities, quizzes, suggestions for wellness breaks, student perspective videos, and Padlet discussions.
