Regalia
All participants must wear UTSA custom navy academic regalia
The tassel is worn on the right side of the cap for Undergraduates until the end of the commencement ceremony when graduates are instructed to shift the tassel to the left side. The tassel is worn on the left side for Masters and Doctoral.
You are encouraged to wear dark shoes since dark accessories have a more favorable appearance with the formal academic wear.
For those students who were not able to pre-order, regalia (cap, gown, tassel, etc) will be available for purchase through commencement. The regalia will only be available for purchase at the Rowdy Campus Store on the Main Campus.

1. How do I purchase regalia (cap, gown, tassel) for commencement?
Bachelors and Masters graduate regalia can be purchased online until April 3, 2024 at Herff.ly/utsa.
PhD regalia can be rented during Grad Fest or online until April 3, 2024 at Herff Jones website
If you missed Grad Fest, regalia can be purchased beginning May 1, 2024, through commencement at the Rowdy Campus Store on the UTSA Main Campus.

Regalia pre-ordered/purchased during Grad Fest at the UTSA Main Campus can be picked up at the Rowdy Campus Store beginning April 30, 2024.
Regalia pre-ordered/purchased during Grad Fest at the UTSA Downtown Campus can be picked up at the UTSA Downtown Store beginning April 30, 2024.
Regalia purchased through the Herff Jones website will be shipped to the student's home. All online orders will be sent to the students directly to their homes.

Beginning May 1, 2024, through commencement, everything you need will be available for purchase at the Rowdy Campus Store on the UTSA Main Campus.
4. Where do I get honors cords?
Honors cords will be provided at the Alamodome on the day of your Commencement Ceremony.
5. Why are there different color tassels for master’s degrees?
Each major discipline has its own tassel color as designated by the American Council on Education (ACE) and its Academic Costume Code.
6. I am receiving a doctoral degree but was unable to attend Grad Fest, how can I rent regalia for commencement?
PhD rentals will be available on the Herff Jones website until April 3, 2024 and at the Rowdy Campus Store on the UTSA Main Campus beginning May 1, 2024.
7. I would like to purchase a custom PhD or EdD regalia but I missed the purchase deadline, what are my options?
If you miss the purchase deadline, you may rent PhD regalia at the Rowdy Campus Store on the UTSA Main Campus beginning May 1, 2024.
