Dear Roadrunners,
I am immensely proud of our community for rising to challenging circumstances this semester. Despite our physical distance from one another, the perseverance demonstrated by all of you is a true testament to your resiliency and determination to succeed.
Now that online learning is in full motion for the spring semester, it’s time to turn our attention to summer.
As you know, the pandemic situation changes daily. Yet we are beginning to see encouraging data from other countries which gives us hope there will be a flattening of the curve somewhere in our future.
Though the timing of our return to normal operations is still very uncertain, we are committed to doing everything we can to ensure minimal disruption to the academic progress of our students and protect the health of our entire community.
As such, we have decided to move all summer classes online. Our students’ success and wellbeing is at the very heart of this decision. Though our circumstances may have changed, our goals remain the same. I am heartened by the fact that UTSA has expanded online summer course offerings by 70 percent over the last few years.
More information will be coming out later today from Provost Espy regarding the details of summer session, but I want to reassure you all that we are working tirelessly to prepare for a fully online, highly successful summer term.
We will continue to closely monitor the pandemic in the weeks to come, and are very much looking forward to the time we will be back on campus together. In the meanwhile, remember to take good care of yourselves and of one another.
Thank you for your patience and your indomitable Roadrunner spirit, and be well.
With appreciation, ![]() Taylor Eighmy President |
