Dear Faculty Colleagues,

Please review the following important steps and reminders for end-of-semester grade reporting as it pertains to the optional Credit/No Credit (CR/NC) grading for Spring 2020.

Grade Reporting Timeline

  • The deadline for students to choose the CR/NC option via ASAP is 5 p.m. May 8, the last day of classes. For students who do not respond, the default will be the traditional grading scale.
  • Faculty can begin inputting final grades starting May 9 and have until May 18 at 2 p.m.
  • The deadline to submit Incomplete grades that are a year old has been extended to May 18 at 12 p.m. If this deadline is not met, each Incomplete grade from Spring 2019 will convert to an "F."
  • Spring 2020 missing grades will be assigned as "NR" (No Report) on May 19 at 12 p.m. and reported to each college for follow-up.
  • Student GPA and academic standing will be available by 5 p.m. May 20.

Inputting Final Grades

  • It is especially important to keep a record of the letter grade a student received independent of it being converted to CR/NC on their transcript.
  • Please submit your final grades through Blackboard because the Registrar’s end-of-term Blackboard to ASAP grade transfer process converts to CR/NC automatically. This method substantially simplifies processing and ensures accuracy. F and NC grades require a last date of attendance and must be inputted directly into ASAP.
  • If you input your grades via ASAP you will only be able to choose CR/NC if the student elected and an official record of the original letter grade will not be kept in the system.
