University Peer Mentorship (UPM)
University Peer Mentorship (UPM) is a 0-credit hour course designed to support new Roadrunners during their first year at UTSA. In UPM, first-year students connect with a peer mentor in their same Academic Studies and meet three times throughout the semester. Peer Mentors are dedicated and experienced UTSA students who have been trained to assist first-year students in adjusting to the rigors of university.
During these meetings, peer mentors will guide students through topics that are crucial to being successful academically and socially at UTSA. Students will have the opportunity to meet other UPM students in their section at program events and learn more about the resources available on campus.
When you register for UPM 1000, you will have access to a Blackboard page that includes your FYE peer mentor’s contact information. The page will serve as a central hub for up-to-date university announcements, events, and information from your mentor.
