Downtown Library Debuts Additional Computers and On-site Technical Support

The Downtown Library, in collaboration with the Office of Information Technology’s Student Computing Services, kicked off the spring semester by adding more than 70 computer workstations and a new desk for on-site technical support.

Desktops and laptops were moved from the former Frio Street Computer Lab, bringing the total number of student workstations in the Downtown Library to 123. The new computers are located in the Quiet Computing Area, as well as in a newly created computing zone which can be found by walking past the front desk and turning left at the bookshelves.

A new Student Computing Services support desk—located in the front of the library near the PrintSpot printers—provides technical assistance to the Downtown Campus community. Staff stationed at the desk offer support for PrintSpot printing, Passphrase resets, Air Rowdy Wi-Fi connection issues and software assistance. Support desk hours are Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m.- 8 p.m., and Fridays from 8 a.m.–5 p.m. through the spring semester (hours subject to change).

Featuring views of the San Antonio skyline, diverse study spaces, and computing services, the Downtown Library serves UTSA’s Downtown Campus community and its numerous undergraduate and graduate programs.
