The Office of Information Technology (OIT) will host its second annual Spring Tech Conference on April 20th from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the HEB University Center. The free, all-day conference is open to the entire UTSA community and will feature leaders from OIT as well as top technology companies such as Dell, Apple, Microsoft, Adobe and Gartner.

Attendees will have an opportunity to listen to presentations led by experts and learn about the various resources available to help enhance their experience at UTSA. In addition, there will be a keynote address, product demos and a vendor fair, which will showcase products and services from IT organizations and businesses as well as UTSA departments.

Although attendance for the entire duration of the conference is welcome, it is not required; therefore, attendees are encouraged to participate in sessions which best fit their schedule. Some of the topics that will be explored include:

  • UTSA MobileApp: Learn more about this re-designed app that provides access to UTSA resources right at your fingertips.

  • Office Professional Plus: Find out more about how you can access full versions of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, PowerPoint, Skype for Business, InfoPath and OneNote) and download them on up to 5 personal devices.

  • Student Innovation Coalition: Hear more from this focus group, which helps OIT ensure that the needs of the UTSA student population are heard.

  • Qualtrics: Get a basic introduction into this online survey tool that can transform the way you conduct surveys. (For a more in-depth look at this tool, register for the advanced training session scheduled for April 21.)

  • BrainStorm QuickHelp: Learn more about this platform that provides customizable online training from virtually anywhere.

  • Windows 10: BYOD- Bring your own device for this interactive session and join a Microsoft expert who will look at the features and benefits of this operating system.

Attendees can also enter into a drawing, which will be held following the conference, for the chance to win a BackBeat Fit Headset, a Jabra Headset, a Dell UltraSharp 23' monitor, and more.

Complimentary breakfast, lunch and snacks will also be provided, thanks to ARC- Staffing, Plantronics, DUBLabs, SKC Communications and Abacus Computers.
