Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) saving lives.

Automated External Defibrillators (AED) have recently been installed in various buildings at all UTSA campuses. This life saving equipment is available to assist individuals who may be suffering from sudden cardiac arrest. Knowing how to use these devices and where they are located can increase the survival rate of a heart attack.

Additionally, take a moment to walk over to the AED and identify its exact location (see attached map legend and AED map).  Lastly, visit the UTSA Training & Development website (www.mytraining.utsa.edu) to sign up for CPR/First-Aid training.  Click this link to view a video of CPR/AED from the American Heart Association:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YpJsL22xfKA

We strongly encourage employees to attend a CPR/First-Aid course because seconds matter during a medical crisis.  For further information on these devices you may contact Lorenzo.Sanchez@utsa.edu, Director of Emergency Management.

Locations of these devices are denoted in the campus Fire Safety Plan and on the evacuation maps posted around campus. You may also contact your campus Facilities Department for more information.  Please review maps below for exact locations.
