Research Interests

Our group studies electromagnetic wave phenomena in complex, inhomogeneous media and structures and their applications in electromagnetics and photonics. We use multiphysics design, multiscale fabrication and synthesis, multiwavelength characterization and measurements to fulfill our research goals. Our current research includes Anderson photon localization in random media, symmetry breaking in layered photonic structures involving nonlinear, magnetic and phase-change materials, high-power coherent fiber-laser combining for the infrared, wide-aperture sheet isolators, limiters and polarizers for high-power applications.
