A message of thanks to our Roadrunner Veterans
Dear Veteran Roadrunners,
As we observe Veteran’s Day this weekend, I want to extend my deep gratitude for your service to our country, as well as your contributions to UTSA. It’s a tremendous source of pride for our university that 16% of our students are military-affiliated, and nearly 300 of our faculty and staff have served. The sacrifices you’ve made have not gone unnoticed, and I’m honored to call you members of our Roadrunner family.
UTSA’s military community is important to me, and we’re continually working to grow our support. This year—with the support of Boeing—we’ve started a new tradition for our military-affiliated graduates, the Veteran Graduate Cord Ceremony. We’ve also partnered with the National Veteran Leadership Foundation to develop an Entrepreneurial Military Community Advocate Program in conjunction with our Office of Veteran and Military Affairs and the Alvarez College of Business.
This year, we have a couple of very special events coming up in honor of Veteran’s Day:
- Military Appreciation Football Game & Tailgate
Saturday, November 11
Alamodome
12 – 5 p.m. Tailgate
6:30 p.m. Kickoff
Come enjoy some free food and watch our Roadrunners take on Rice at the Alamodome!
