Task force to hold Q&A sessions

January 18, 2019

With the Human Health Planning Advisory Task Force launched last November, Academic Affairs will hold a series of informal conversations — Q&A and Update with the Human Health Planning Advisory Task Force — this month with the academic college faculty at the Main and Downtown campuses.

The Task Force was initiated to explore college structures for leveraging university strengths in human health–related education and research efforts to better serve UTSA students, the San Antonio community, and state workforce needs. In this first phase of their work, the Task Force is examining institutional research on health-related programs and scholarship at UTSA, organizational structures and best practices at peer institutions, the local market for health-related careers and programs, and potential community partners. Next steps in the second phase are for the Task Force to begin translating their findings into the development of differing notional organizational structures for a new health college, which will then be carefully considered after receiving input from the broader campus community, external partners and UTSA leadership.
