Comprehensive Campaign
Charge
Launched on UTSA’s 50th Anniversary, the ten-year $500 million Be Bold Comprehensive Campaign will provide the university with the infrastructure and resources to achieve international recognition as a model for student success and research discovery. Karl Miller-Lugo, UTSA's Vice President for Advancement and Alumni Relations, provides central leadership for the campaign.
Designed as a comprehensive effort, the campaign seeks investments in the people, programs and facilities needed to inspire the opportunities, innovations and impacts that will shape the future of San Antonio. UTSA is committed to deep investments in areas that prepare students to lead in an increasingly complex world, build powerful connections between San Antonio and partners across the globe, and reimagine how inquiry and discovery changes lives.
Be Bold is the largest comprehensive campaign in UTSA’s history. It will support all divisions, schools, departments and institutes across the university and its four urban campuses. Campaign gifts will expand the size, scope and trajectory of the university to advance our strategic destinations: student success, research excellence, and strategic growth.

Strategic Plan Midpoint Update (Fall 2022)
In October 2022, UTSA publicly launched its largest comprehensive campaign in history, having already raised $311m toward a $500m goal. During this phase of the campaign, UTSA will continue to build on a strong foundation of fundraising success, including gifts from thousands of donors, including an unrestricted $40 million gift from philanthropists MacKenzie Scott and Dan Jewett to benefit UTSA students, and gifts to name two colleges—the first and second in UTSA history—the Carlos Alvarez College of Business and the Margie and Bill Klesse College of Engineering and Integrated Design.
