UTSA Roadrunner Days Schedule: August 18-20

UTSA Roadrunner Days Schedule: August 18-20

(Aug. 18, 2017) -- The anticipation has been building and now Roadrunner Days is finally here. The official kickoff to the 2017-18 school year, Roadrunner Days, is a 10-day celebration on the Main and Downtown Campuses where new and current Roadrunners experience fun, exciting events and activities to get acquainted with the UTSA community.

This year, UTSA welcomes more than 8,000 freshman and transfer students. Roadrunner Days is their first taste of what being a ’Runner is all about. They will take part in time-honored UTSA traditions, learn about valuable UTSA resources, meet new friends and make lasting memories.

Here’s what’s going on Friday, Saturday and Sunday:

Residence Hall Move-In
Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., various residence halls, Main Campus

More than 4,000 excited students and their families will transform UTSA’s residence halls into their new homes. UTSA staff and student leaders will be on hand to help new Roadrunners every step of the way.

A Toast to Transfers
Friday, 3 p.m. – 5 p.m., Main Building ground floor lobby, Main Campus

This is a terrific opportunity for incoming transfer students to network with staff that serve veteran, non-traditional and transferring students. They will meet transfer peer mentors who can help answer questions about UTSA. They will also participate in interactive sessions to help ease their transition to a new campus.

Welcome Reception
Friday, 7 p.m. – 9 p.m., University Center Paseo, Main Campus

Roadrunners, their parents and guests are invited to come see what UTSA life is all about during this free event. Stick around for this year’s premiere performance of the Spirit of San Antonio, UTSA’s marching band.

Library Survival Adventure

Can you survive the library wilderness? Join the mobile adventure to find out. Finish the game for a chance to win a t-shirt and other prizes while you learn more about the awesome resources at the John Peace Library. Ice cream will be served while supplies last.

UTSA Volleyball Alumni Match, Meet & Greet
Saturday, 5 p.m. – 7 p.m., Convocation Center, Main Campus

Watch your UTSA Volleyball team play as they gear up for the 2017 season. Then stick around after the game for an autograph and photo session with the players and coaches.

The Hook Up
Saturday, 7 p.m., University Center, Retama Auditorium (UC 2.02.02), Main Campus

Late Night at the Rec
Saturday, 9 p.m. – midnight, Recreation Wellness Center, Main Campus

This UTSA tradition transforms a standard information session into an exciting night of fun. Students will learn about the facilities, recreation programs, and wellness services offered at the Main and Downtown Campuses. There will be games, dancing, rock climbing to start a wellness routine and free t-shirts for those who complete the required activities.
