(Feb. 2, 2018) -- February is Matching Gift Month and The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) is participating. A gift to UTSA this month can double or even triple the impact to the university.
At UTSA, donors are vital in helping to provide exceptional opportunities to students and the community. Contributions support scholarships for deserving students and fund UTSA research initiatives including Alzheimer’s and cancer research.
Many companies will match charitable contributions their employees make. For example, if someone makes a gift of $50, and the company matches 1:1, then the company will also make a gift of $50, doubling the impact of the donation.
“Matching gifts make a big difference for students at UTSA,” says Lauren Lopez, who helps manage the matching gift program. “This benefit that many companies offer can help donors increase the impact they have through their giving to UTSA.”
Several San Antonio area matching gift companies include Exxon Mobil, Toyota, Frost Bank, NuStar Energy and Valero, just to name a few. Find out if a company is a matching gift company.
