(May 4, 2018) -- It was a celebration 300 years in the making as UTSA hosted Historic Futures - A Taste of Folklife Thursday night on the Main Campus. The official SA300 Tricentennial event marking San Antonio's Founder's Day brought hundreds of UTSA students, faculty, staff, alumni and members of the community together to celebrate the diverse and rich heritage of San Antonio.
The festival kicked off with a parade through the heart of campus featuring musicians and dancers dressed in traditional costumes. Guests enjoyed a night packed with multicultural music and dance performances, delicious food from all over the world and amusement park rides for the kids. The night was capped off with a colorful fireworks show.
