(May 24, 2018) -- Today, officials at UTSA and Houston announced updates to the four-game non-conference football series between the two schools.
Originally scheduled for meetings in 2017 and 2023 in San Antonio and 2022 and 2024 in Houston, the series now features a matchup each season from 2022 to 2025 with each team hosting twice.
UTSA now will host Houston on Sept. 3, 2022, and Aug. 31, 2024, with both contests slated for the Alamodome.
The Cougars will be the home team for games scheduled for Sept. 2, 2023, and Aug. 30, 2025, at TDECU Stadium in Houston.
The two schools first unveiled the four-game series on March 21, 2016. The initial meeting in that series was scheduled for Sept. 2, 2017 in San Antonio but was not played due to Hurricane Harvey.
In their last meeting, the Roadrunners spoiled the Cougars' TDECU Stadium opener with a 27-7 victory on Aug. 29, 2014.
Houston won the inaugural matchup, 59-28, on Sept. 28, 2013, at the Alamodome.
UTSA will kick off the 2018 season at Arizona State on Sept. 1 in Tempe, Ariz. The Roadrunners will host Baylor in their home opener on Sept. 8 at the Alamodome. Purchase season tickets or mini-plans now online or by calling (210) 458-UTSA.
