MARCH 9, 2020 — The UTSA Alumni Association has partnered with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program to help members of the UTSA community meet the looming tax filing deadline.
Volunteers who are IRS-certified will be on campus on three dates to provide free basic income tax return preparation with electronic filing.
“We partnered with VITA last year, and the response was overwhelmingly positive and showed us there is a real desire for assistance,” said Steve Woodall, interim executive director of the association. “Doing taxes can be stressful, so if we can support our community to make it a bit easier, we are pleased to help out.”
Alumni, students, staff or faculty who make $55,000 or less as well as people with disabilities and limited–English-speaking taxpayers are eligible for the free assistance.
There are three opportunities to take advantage of this free service:
All sessions will take place in the Katz Alumni Center, which is on the ground-floor level of the Bauerle Road Garage on Main Campus. Reservations are encouraged.
