Family Association

The University of Texas at San Antonio’s Family Association aims to provide communication between the University and family members of our students in order to increase student success, facilitate positive University relations, and promote a suitable role for family members within the University community. Valuing the role families play in the lives of students, UTSA officially formed the Family Association in 2004. The Association assists new families in getting acclimated to UTSA by developing social events and monthly newsletters which are designed to enhance the communication between parents and students.

The Orientation and Family Programs staff is dedicated to ensuring new students and family members have a successful transition and integration into college life.

Become a Member of Family Association

Membership is free and available to all family members of current Roadrunners. Housed within Orientation and Family Programs, the Family Association provides a support group for family members as a way for them to communicate with UTSA and stay involved with campus life.

Family Association Events

Parents and family members are encouraged to visit UTSA any time of the year. The Family Association has developed a series of events to celebrate the supportive role that families play in the lives of their college students. We encourage you to attend or volunteer at our next function!

Family Association Newsletter, Family Connection

The Family Connection is distributed monthly during the fall and spring semesters to the members of the association. The newsletter keeps Family Association members up to date on campus events, student and faculty achievements, and practical advice to help parents make their way through the college experience with their students.

Family Fund

The Family Fund helps to transform the quality of life for all UTSA students. The fund ensures that students continue to receive the well-rounded, quality education for which our University is recognized. The Fund’s priorities are academic and leadership development. Parent Council

The mission of the UTSA Parent Council is to foster positive relationships with all members of the UTSA community, promote the quality reputation of the university and increase support for programs that enhance student life on campus.

Composed of family members of current students, the Parent Council serves as an advisory board to university administration. All members of the Family Association are eligible to apply for an appointment to the Parent Council by contacting the Student Affairs Development Office at (210) 458-5125.
