The OIT Academic Support Solutions Fund (formerly the Technology Fund) was created to provide UTSA colleges and departments with support for the implementation of student-centered projects. At the beginning of each academic year, OIT sends out a call for proposals to its Faculty Advisory Committee members for dissemination throughout their respective departments.
In 2016, OIT awarded funding totaling $125k to six UTSA colleges via its Academic Support Solutions Fund. This fund aims to provide support for student-focused initiatives as part of OIT’s mission to foster “student, faculty and staff success and advances in research, through collaboration and innovation.”
A sub-committee of the OIT Faculty Advisory Committee comprised of OIT staff and UTSA students convenes during the fall semester to vote on proposals. Proposals are awarded funding based on their alignment with at least one goal of Blueprint UTSA and adherence to the guidelines of the UTSA Automated Services and Computer Access Charge.
