Brent League currently serves as the Director of Research Computing Support Group for the Office of Information Technology (OIT) at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). He joined OIT in 1996 as a computer support engineer and progressed to direct multiple areas within OIT, including Data Center Operations, and Infrastructure Services.
League manages the design and implementation of new, innovative technology solutions. He works daily to support the university's vision of becoming a Tier One research institution by managing technical support for the High-Performance Compute (HPC) research computer systems and visualization technologies on campus. League also provides HPC and research application training and workshops for research faculty and students.
League studied at Alamo Colleges and The University of Texas of the Permian Basin. He has an educational background in electronics theory, troubleshooting, and computer technologies. League has over 20 years of experience in the IT field, including managing enterprise server systems, email systems, web server technologies, application servers, data centers, and Help Desk support. In his career, League has obtained certificates in Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITILv3).
