UTSA offers summer camps for all ages Aug. 8 - 12
(Aug. 8, 2016) -- Throughout the summer, UTSA will host nearly 100 camps that will offer exciting, innovative and intellectually challenging programs for children, high school students and incoming college undergraduates. The camps will provide a glimpse of the collaborative, groundbreaking and innovative UTSA programs developed by top-tier researchers and faculty to give the next generation a wealth of knowledge in a wide variety of disciplines.
This week, UTSA is offering the following camps:
Archaeology and Innovations
Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., UTSA Main Campus
The UTSA Center for Archaeological Research's weeklong day camp "Archaeology and Innovations," is open to 9 to 13-year-olds. Campers will participate in indoor and outdoor activities while exploring ancient technologies from around the world and new technologies archaeologists are using now.
Math Jump Start and Boot Camp
Monday to Wednesday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., UTSA Main Campus
The UTSA Department of Mathematics offers the Jump Start, two-and-a-half day refresher for UTSA undergraduate students whose math skills are a little rusty. Jump Start is a fast paced program led by UTSA math faculty to prepare campers for success in future math courses.
Japanese for Children
Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m., UTSA Main Campus
Campers ages 6 to 12 will learn about the language of Japan as well as its culture through music, cooking, movies and crafts. In the morning, students will learn to read, write and speak the language. In the afternoon, the program is packed with cultural activities.

This event will acknowledge graduating seniors from the McNair Scholars program at UTSA before inducting the new cohort of scholars into the program.

Arts Building Recital Hall, Main CampusRoadrunner Walk is an event for graduating students to have a memorable walk on campus to celebrate an important milestone and their achievements. Graduates will walk along the Paseo while being celebrated by the UTSA community, friends, and family members.
