The University of Texas at San Antonio is committed to diversity and a campus culture of inclusion that is necessary for a rich learning environment. The Office of UTSA’s ADA Coordinator monitors the University of Texas at San Antonio’s compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act to support equal access for people with disabilities. As such, the ADA coordinator:
- Supports the development of an inclusive campus culture by coordinating activities of campus departments regarding ADA related issues
- Resolve allegations of non-compliance based on disability (Note: Complaints that a program, service, or activity of UTSA is not accessible to persons with disabilities should be directed to the ADA Coordinator at ada@utsa.edu )
- Oversees University compliance with all relevant laws and regulations related to the ADA and Section 504
- Provides consultation, information, and referral to appropriate resources for disability‐related issues
- Providing training as needed regarding the ADA and Section 504
In accordance with the requirements of Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) will not discriminate against qualified individuals with disabilities on the basis of disability in its services, programs, or activities. ADA Grievances
ADA Grievance Procedures:
- The University of Texas at San Antonio has adopted an internal grievance procedure providing for prompt and equitable resolution of complaints alleging any action prohibited by the U.S. Department of Justice regulations implementing Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
- Title II states, in part, that "no otherwise qualified disabled individual shall, solely by reason of such disability, be excluded from the participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination" in programs or activities sponsored by a public entity.
