The University of Texas at San Antonio is committed to promoting equal access for all university programs and activities for all individuals with disabilities. The Office of UTSA’s ADA Coordinator monitors The University of Texas at San Antonio’s (UTSA) compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act to support equal access for people with disabilities. As such, the ADA coordinator:

  • Supports the development of a welcoming campus culture by coordinating activities of campus departments regarding ADA related issues  
  • Oversees University compliance with all relevant laws and regulations related to the ADA and Section 504
  • Provides consultation, information, and referral to appropriate resources for disability‐related issues
  • Providing training as needed regarding the ADA and Section 504

In accordance with the requirements of Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, UTSA will not discriminate against qualified individuals with disabilities on the basis of disability in its services, programs, or activities. UTSA does not discriminate on the basis of disability in its hiring or employment practices and complies with all regulations promulgated by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission under Title I of the ADA.

ADA Grievances

ADA Grievance Procedures: 

  • UTSA has adopted an internal grievance procedure providing for prompt and equitable resolution of complaints alleging any action prohibited by the U.S. Department of Justice regulations implementing Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
  • Title II states, in part, that "no otherwise qualified disabled individual shall, solely by reason of such disability, be excluded from the participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination" in programs or activities sponsored by a public entity. 
  • UTSA is committed to provide equal employment and educational opportunities for all qualified persons without regard to race, color, national origin, religion, sex, age, veteran status, disability, or sexual orientation. UTSA’s Office of Equal Opportunity Services (EOS) is charged with fulfilling this commitment.
